Stasiak Ludwik

Ludwik Stasiak (1858 Bochnia-1924 ibidem). Painter, ilustrator, journalist, art historian.

 

Studies at Fine Art Academy of Cracow (Florian Cynk, Leopold Loeffler, Jan Matejko), then in Vienna and Munich. In 1890 he went to Nuremburg to study Veit Stoss works. He had his first individual exhibition in Cracow in 1893. After 1901 he stopped painting and focused on art history reaserch. In his oeuvre there are many landscapes and generic art scenes – mostly showing his hometown – Bochnia.
