Varietes – variety in art

Felicja Pacanowska (1907 or 1915 Lodzi-2002 Rome). Painter, printer, sculptorer.

 

Graduated from Fine Art Academy of Warsaw (Faculty of Painting and Faculty of Graphic Arts). She continued her studies in Paris (since 1932), where she lived for many years. She travelled to Italy and England. In mid 1930s she had individual exhibition of about 50 prints and monotyping works in Warsaw Institute of Art. Since then she exhibited in: Salon d'Automne, Salon des Independants, Salon de Mai, Salon des Réalitées Nouvelles, Jeune Gravure Contemporaine, Estampes Contemporaines. As time goes by she turned her artistic style into abstraction, taking much from the cubism.
